Bob Brunsdon:

As usual, I thoroughly enjoyed the AGM weekend and in particular our volunteer speakers.

In no particular order:

The Really Good Bits:

Secondhand book stall (members were very generous here and I picked up some real gems!).
Seeing Andy Johnson (age 55 1/2) receive his Badge.
Seeing Scotty receive the Chandler Award.
Paul Oldfield stepping up at short notice and delivering his excellent presentation on Bruneval et al.

The 'Referred' Bits:

Saturday lunch.
The demise of our traditional Guild Dinner Grace, although I'm sure the child whose Sunday School project we used instead, was very happy!!

Graeme Cooper

Very good presentations all round and Dennis Weatherall, what a story you told. An unbelievable feat of the Great War. Well done Bob Darby and Frank Toogood for winning the prizes and to Scottie for winning the Mike Buckmaster-Brown’s Cuckoo for Assignment 6. Very good to see Lizzie Holmes at the Dinner…. I was not suprized to see a few tears as we rose from our chairs to applaud her. Despite the remote location the Bovington weekend turned out trumps. Most folk I believe departed with a belief that more involvement by the membership, international branding and a better understanding of the constitution will ensue. Thank you Mr Sec for your efforts and Tony Coutts-Britton for his service over the last year. Roll on the Christmas Lunch!

Tony Scott

A big thank you to everybody involved in the organisation of the AGM, your hard work is very much appreciated. It was another enjoyable weekend and I am still in a state of 'numbness and disbelief' after receiving the David Chandler award, as I said at the time, I am not usually lost for words but on this occasion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway it was great to see some old friends there, especially those from the 'foreign legion' who travelled from far off lands to attend and it was also good to meet some new ones.

Enjoyed the assignments and lectures, just wish I could have seen Weathers over the top of the lectern! (Sorry Dennis, hope you and Lady Di had a safe journey back) Thought the 'open forum' was a good idea and chaired expertly.

Looking forward to the next gathering of the Guild 'Behind the lines!'

Kind regards,

Scottie.
