The Guild Golf Championship saw Mike Tipper dominate the field for the third year running with 37 points to win the Sir John Akehurst Tankard. On 19th August during fine weather at The John O’Gaunt Golf Club, Potton in Bedfordshire 18 Guild golfers and their guests competed for an elaborate array of prizes provided by Nott Pybus & Associates Ltd (Commercial Insurance Brokers and Independent Financial Advisers).
Before lunch we were entertained to an in-depth presentation of ‘RAF Tempsford: Churchill's Most Secret Airfield’ by a local expert, author and historian Bernard O’Connor.
24 attended a Guild Dinner in the Clubhouse after which a riveting presentation by Jo Hook on The Battle for Arnhem Bridge stole the show.
